DESCRIPTION
The Stericup vacuum filtration system combines a Steritop filter unit with a receiver flask for processing and storing volumes from 150 mL to 1,000 mL. Please see our other listings for other brand and capacities of vacuum filter units
It′s new no tip-easy grip flask design and compact profile improve stability during filtration, make gripping the receiver easier, and make Stericup filter units ideal to use in laminar flow hoods.
As an added convenience, the bottom of the receiver flask is slightly recessed, enabling capped flasks to be stacked for convenient storage. Durapore® membranes made with Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) provide high flow rates and throughput, low extractable and broad chemical compatibility.

Warning:
It is common for the polystyrene lower chamber of all brands of filter units (Millipore Stericup, Nalgene Rapid Flow Units and Pall Corporation Acrovac Units) to crack under moderate vacuum pressure. Industry response to this issue, is to replace the lower chamber with a glass media bottle with a GL45 screw-threaded neck onto which the upper chamber will attach, giving a gas-tight connection. Of course, the sterile integrity of the unit will be somewhat compromised with this altered arrangement.
